Nobel Laureate Lecture: Meet this year's Nobel Laureate in Chemistry Richard Henderson

We welcome this year's Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, Richard Henderson, to Gothenburg 14 December to give a lecture about his research, which awarded him the Nobel Prize.

Richard Henderson was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2017 together with Jacques Dubochet and Joachim Frank "for developing cryo-electron microscopy for the high-resolution structure determination of biomolecules in solution", a method that both simplifies and improves the imaging of biomolecules.

This method has moved biochemistry into a new era. Researchers can now freeze biomolecules mid-movement and visualise processes they have never previously seen, which is decisive for both the basic understanding of life's chemistry and for the development of pharmaceuticals.

The lecture is free.
Number of seats are limited.
