Postdoctoral Fellowship in time-resolved femtosecond infrared spectroscopy

News: Jan 18, 2019

The Department of Chemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Gothenburg, offers a postdoctoral fellowship in time-resolved femtosecond infrared spectroscopy.

We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher with interest and experience in time-resolved femtosecond infrared spectroscopy. We are particularly interested in developing new transient IR techniques for studying excited state dynamics of photoactive proteins. We are also interested in applying 2D IR spectroscopy to studying aggregation mechanisms of intrinsically disordered peptides. You will be trained in all parts of the project, such as: experimental design, sample design and preparation, data acquisition and analysis, and publication. We encourage that you gain experience in co-supervision of Ph.D. students and M.Sc. thesis students and you may also attend international conferences and meetings. You will be directly supervised by Dr Michal Maj, and in close collaboration with Prof. Sebastian Westenhoff. You will become a part of the highly dynamic environment at the Division of Biochemistry and Structural Biology at the Department of Chemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Gothenburg.

Dnr: GU 2019-194

Scholarship period: The scholarship covers a period of 12 months with a possibility of extension of another year.

Preliminary start date: Mar-Apr 2019
