The PhD council at Chemistry and Molecular biology

Welcome to the PhD council at Chemistry and molecular biology! On this site you’ll find information about the work we do in monitoring the education for PhD students at the department. Have a look around, the most updated information you can find at our GUL activity!

You can come to the PhD council with comments, opinions or questions about your employments as a graduate student at the department. What would you like the council to arrange? Let us know! We’ll continue our work with social events with arranging pubs every month together with the PhDstudent education council.

The PhD council works to give you as a PhD student the best education possible. We spread information from the board and are also involved in the discussions where new rules at the department is developed. We have representatives in all boards and councils both at the department and the faculty of science (by the council of postgraduate students at the science faculty). We have very good opportunity to influence the university!

As a student group in Göta student Union we are the part of the student union closest to you. All the registered PhD students at the department are members but to make the work more efficient we select representatives that make up the PhD council. We elect new representatives every year and also collect representatives from all parts of the department so you can always have a representative close to you. Are you interested in joining? Send us an email!

The PhD council meets regularly (scheduled meetings are found here). We have been involved in decisions regarding PhD student financing and installation of PhD courses. One ever occurring topic is the department duty, which for most PhD students at our department is the undergraduate teaching.

We hope that you will have a nice time at the department and to see you soon in one of the pubs or in the corridors!
