Installation of pulsecompressor

We have installed APE pulse-compressor unit on our experimental MPM system. Pulse duration at objective was reduced from 300 fs to < 100 fs. This is expected to significantly improve our experiments. More results to come...


PhD defence

Hanna Thomsen successfully defended her thesis on "Biophotonics targeting pharmaceutical challenges" on September 14th.

New group member!

Monika Malak started her PhD student position in the Biomedical photonics group on 2018-05-14.

The topic of the PhD student project will be "Multiphoton microscopy and skin regeneration in vitro"




Bachelor report presentation

Rasmus Björk successfully presented his BSc report on "Implementation of open aperture z-scan method to determine two-photon absorption cross sections - An investigation of curcumin" on May 30.




Masters thesis presentation

Victoria Tran (Pharmacy program) will present her Masters thesis on A spectroscopic investigation of the stability of curcumin, focusing on the effect of γ-cyclodextrin as a pharmaceutical stabilizer.

Hanna Thomsen, PhD student in Biomedical Photonics group, was awarded 2nd prize in the competition for best 3 min research presentation at BIOS Photonics West, Jan 2018.
